Nathan is really liking playing T-Ball so far. He likes running the bases and playing in the grass and dirt at any rate, lol. I'm hoping to get some pictures of him in his uniform this weekend. They had their first practice game tonight, but he's been running a low grade temp so he missed it, but THEY WON!
Maybe Friday he will be well and can go to practice and I can get a few snapshots!

So last Tuesdays practice went about the same.. Nate practiced for a while and then sat for a while.. he seems to want to take a *break* about half way through every time. So here he is defending home plate when they had him playing catcher, lol.

And Friday he was sick so he missed practice....

Nathan went to his second t-ball practice yesterday. He had fun. Half way through practice he told his coach he needed a break and then sat at home plate for a while just watching practice, lol.
He wore his batting helmet the whole practice but eventually decided it needed to come off because it was *confusing his brain cells and he couldn't think with it on*

sitting with part of the team

everyone listening to coach, Nate filling his lap with grass

waiting to catch the ball

taking his *break* at home plate behind the coaches

getting a little help before batting
He did hit the ball after a few tries and took off running, lol.

Ok.. so we missed T-Ball practice yesterday. It was kinda windy and chilly/humid and just overall typical Louisiana damp out there.. and he had a runny nose.. so I didn't push it.

Monday we got the official diagnosis of Hypotonic Cerebral Palsy for Nate as well. Today is Wednesday so we will have physical therapy. I'll post another blog post on Friday or Sat after practice!

So Nathan watched his cousin, Josh, play t-ball all last summer and lamented over the fact he couldn't be *on the team*. So this year Nathan is signed up and *on the team*.

He genuinely had a blast running on the field and hitting the ball off the T. His skills of course are not up to par with the other kids.. but I think he will improve some this summer, he may never be up to par with them, but he will improve.

He told me he was soooo awesome out on the field and he ran to all the bases and to the home run plate... we plan on trying to pump up his ego by telling him over and over how awesome he truly is (not that his ego needs much inflating). I hope this will be good for him, his OT and PT therapists are very happy about his t-ball season!

Here are a few pics from the cell phone, because while I took my handy dandy canon digital rebel with me, I failed to insert the memory card into it before leaving home...

holding a bat i think?

We have practice on Tuesdays and Fridays I think.. games won't start until mid April.. so I am going to try and update this at least once a week! Off we go!
